Three months in a Nutshell

So, it's been a while. I guess I better catch you up on where I've been for the past 3 months:
1. Highschool. We have a love/hate relationship.
2. Doing homework. A lot of it. Definately a hate relationship.
3. Running (Track season officially starts in 49 days...not that I'm counting or anything).
4. Oh, I went to Homecoming. I probably should have mentioned that.
5. A cute little red car appeared in my garage and Charlie disappeared. I'll post a picture and the story behind that later.

We're all caught up now, right? Right.

State?

Sometimes you happen to have a super great run at the region meet. A good enough run on your very last chance to meet your season's goal, that you do just that. You complete your goal and run a 13.96 100M and break 14 seconds. You realize you have improved .9 seconds in your 200, and .7 seconds in your 100, which is a lot for sprinting! You feel fulfilled for your season and would be just fine if that was your last run of the season. Then you get to school on Monday prepared to bike when your coach comes to find you to inform you that you might be running in state. State! As a sophomore! That would be so amazing! In a 4X100M relay at that! Then I realize I'm only an alternate and not to get my hopes up because honestly, who ever misses state? But it's too late. My hopes are up. I'll let you know what happens.

Number 3

Win a race, even if it's only in my own heat.
Well friends, it looks like this track season is off to a great start already! We had our first official meet today, which just so happened to be against our biggest rivals...Westlake (if you read that in a super intense voice like I intended, you are the greatest). We smoked them! Feel the burn Westlake, feel the burn.
On top of that, I had a really great meet personally. My time on the 100M was 14.13. It was 14.63 in time trials, so this was actually quite a surprising improvement for me. It's still not quite where I want it, but improvements improvement, right? I took either 1st or 2nd in my heat...it's still a little bit up in the air until I see the actual times. The point is, it was a close race!
I also ran the 200M, which is the race that surprisingly brought me to complete this goal. I've found the shorter the race, the more competition I am, but maybe that isn't so true after all. I came in very first in my heat! Whoohoo! You have no idea what I great feeling it is to take off running, and not see anyone in front of you the entire race. It's just you, all by yourself, pushing yourself to your very max until your legs are so tight you think you're going to collapse. Best. feeling. ever. This was especially great because I did not want to run this race. At all. In fact, I threw a huge internal fit before the race started because I was pretty sure I was going to lose the entire thing, so I didn't want to run and embarrass myself. It was seriously the best feeling ever. I love it when hard work pays off. Oh, and I love winning, too. Nobigdeal. (If you can't tell, I'm a little bit of a competitive soul.)
Basically, I'm just super excited for the season! We have so many great athletes on our team. We are going to dominate.
